Life Code is a series of books that use the Vedic Code of Science to predict daily trends. It uses your birth date, name, and location to calculate results in the areas of Marriage, Business, Health, and more. With a fresh, modern design, the app attracts new users and brings new interactive functionality to current users.
The book covers and promotional graphics for the Life Code series were lacking any sort of visual foundation. The books have no imagery, dense text, and a convoluted system for deriving numbers. Explaining this to new users was a bit of a challenge. We also wanted to get in some interactivity and functionality not possible with the books.
Thankfully using existing graphics wasn't a requirement so it we took the opportunity to start from scratch. Hindu art styles were initially explored, but because this app was aimed at converting new users we went for a modern design direction that had universal reach and avoided any potential preconceived notions.
Easy planning for the future. Keywords isolate days by interest.
Explaining the concept of vedic astrology wasn't exactly straightforward. Once we wrapped our heads around how your date of birth corresponds to a specific planetary/moon position that results in a unique angular vector, we totally figured out the meaning of life. We then used animated visuals to help illustrate the process.
A consistent visual language, color system, and intuitive UI help create a much more convenient and personalized experience.
Profile, About sections, Summary, and Settings are not accessed daily so we hid them in a hamburger menu. We wanted to make the transitions between sections obvious so we designed a dimensional layered effect that made it clear that you were leaving the primary experience and going into another.
Profile setup is quick and intuitive with everything including profile photo handled in a single flow.
