Droplet Microsite Proposal

Pad Outdoor manufactures high end outdoor furniture. To launch their new line of planters we proposed a microsite that shows off the beauty and technical specs fro their Droplet line. Along with the typical environmental beauty shots, the site gives in depth information on colors, materials, specifications, and manufacturing. Playful animations keep in line with Pad Outdoor’s minimal and distinctive style.
Pad Outdoor needed a site for their new product line Droplet that matched their minimal aesthetic. The challenge was to combine the artful minimalism of a print piece with the practical interactivity of a web page.
Since Droplet was a new product line, we wanted the name to really stand out. It was incorporated boldly onto every page and became an integral part of the design. Interactive elements were obvious, but not intrusive. Elegant transitions and animations provide a beautiful fluidity between sections.
Sections were designed as full page experiences, but elegant transitions provide a seamless experience going from section to section.
We wanted a fun and intuitive way to show the different color options for Droplet. We referenced paint chips for the selector and applied that color to the whole page for more impact.
The Droplet was bared down to its raw aluminum state to show how it is made. The interactive video allows you jump between the different steps of the spinning and powder coating process.
A simple swipe through gallery was designed to show off the beautiful product photography. Bold arrows and close buttons transition smoothly to give you an uninterrupted experience.
Some functionality is necessarily pared down for mobile, but we maintained the overall integrity of the design even in a small portrait layout.
